Title: Authorizes Police to View Body Camera Footage
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes police to view body camera footage.
Authorizes officers to “review and receive an accounting of a body worn camera recording of a routine police stop or house call” (§ 40A:14-118.5)(n)).
Specifies officers may not review and receive recordings in case of injurious, fatal, or other extraordinary circumstance (§ 40A:14-118.5)(n)).
Specifies Act does not apply to correctional police officers (§ 40A:14-118.5)(1)(a)).
Specifies Act shall take effect immediately upon approval of Governor (Sec. 2).
