Title: Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act
Vote to pass a bill that establishes grants and requires other activities to improve mental and behavioral health among health care providers and farmers.
Exempts Medicare from sequestration until March 31, 2022 and temporarily extends other medicare provisions, including payment increases under the physician fee schedule (Sec. 2).
Requires any debits recorded for Fiscal Year 2022 on the statutory pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) scorecards be deducted from the scorecards for 2022 and added to the scorecards for 2023 (Sec. 2).
Defines “sequestration” as a process of automatic, usually across-the-board spending reductions under which the budgetary resources are permanently cancelled to enforce specific policy goals (Sec. 2).
Reduces the time period required to expedite senate procedures for the following, including (Sec. 8):
increasing the debt limit;
The procedures limit debate;
Waive points of order; and
Specifies that the aforementioned procedures may only be used once and shall expire after January 16, 2022 (Sec. 8).
