Title: Reduces the Co-Pay on Insulin and Medical Devices for Individuals with Types 1 and 2 Diabetes
Vote to pass a bill that reduces co-pays for insulin and medical devices for individuals with types 1 and 2 diabetes.
Reduces the copay cost for a 30-day supply of prescription insulin from $100 to $35 (Article 59, Sec. 33-59-1).
Specifies that the copay cost for a device shall not exceed $100 for a 30-day supply (Article 59, Sec. 33-59-1).
Reduces the copay cost for an insulin pump to no more than $250 one time purchase every 2 years (Article 59, Sec. 33-59-1).
Defines “device” as the following, including the following, while exempting insulin pumps (Article 59, Sec. 33-59-1):
Blood glucose test strip, glucometer or continuous glucometer; or
Lancet, lancing device, or insulin syringe used to
Cure;
Diagnose;
Mitigate;
Prevent; or
Treat diabetes or low blood sugar.
