Vote to pass a bill that amends large-scale projects labor standards.

Highlights:

 

  • Specifies that if 15 percent or more of the total hours worked on a covered project is performed by apprentices than the following information that be required to be provided by the private or public construction companies (Sec. 1):

    • Internet address of employment advertisement or job announcements;

    • Dates, times, internet addresses, and attendance lists of pre-job conference with apprenticeship or pre-apprenticeship and workforce providers in construction;

    • Contracts requesting apprenticeships with an apprenticeship program approved by the Bureau of Labor and Industries, including the following whether a response was provided within 48 hours or not;

      • The date;

      • Telephone contact;

      • Electronic mail contact;

    • Contacts requesting apprenticeships from a union hall, including the date, time, phone number, and email; and

    • Documentation of job offers and number of job offers made to apprentices.

  • Exempts any contract with tribal governments or an Oregon Indian tribe’s covered project from the aforementioned documentation or wage requirements unless the tribal government elects to adopt the standards (Sec. 1).

  • Establishes that this act shall take effect immediately upon its passage (Sec. 3).
