Highlights:

• Amends previous election laws to establish the Office of Election Crimes and Security within the Department of State to assist the Secretary of State in completion of their duties to investigate election crimes (Sec. 3).

• Specifies that the aforementioned Office will have a director appointed by the Secretary of State and shall be responsible for the following, including (Sec. 3):

• Receiving and reviewing notices and reports generated by government officials or any other individual regarding an alleged occurrences of election law violations or election irregularities;

• Initiating independent inquiries and conducting preliminary investigations into allegations of election law violations or election irregularities in this state; and
