Vote to pass a bill that requires overtime pay for farm workers be phased in over time.

Highlights:

• Limits employers’ ability to “permit, require, or suffer” agricultural worker overtime (Sec. 2(1)).

• Reduces maximum allowable hours from 55 (years 2023-24) to 48 (2025-26) to 40 (2027 onward) (Sec. 2(1)).

• Authorizes overtime if employer pays 1.5x regular rate (Sec. 2(2)).

• Exempts workers “whose principal duties are administrative, executive or professional”, etc (Sec. 4a)).
