Vote to pass a bill that establishes a rebate system for zero-emission vehicles.

Highlights:

 

  • Establishes rebate program to incentivize installation of a zero-emission hydrogen vehicle fueling system that provides (Sec. 1):

    • $200,000 for the installation of a hydrogen fueling system; and

    • $200,000 for upgrades in fuel capacity of hydrogen fueling systems.

  • Requires the public utilities commission to review applications for rebates (Sec. 1).

  • Requires submission of rebate application no later than 12 months after the fueling system was installed or upgraded (Sec. 1).

  • Requires that the public utilities program gives rebate priority to publicly available hydrogen fueling systems (Sec. 1).

  • Reduces gas tax funds allocated to electric vehicle charging programs and re-appropriates them to the hydrogen fueling system rebate fund (Sec. 2).
