Title: Establishes Regulations for the Issuance of Alcoholic Beverage Licenses in Charles County
Vote to pass a bill that establishes new regulations for the issuance of alcoholic beverage licenses in Charles County.
Prohibits the Board of License Commissioners of Charles County from issuing more than 1 of any alcoholic beverage license with an off-sale privilege (sale off premises) for every 1,350 residents in a district (Sec. 1, Pg. 1).
Specifies that for the 6th election district, the restriction is increased to every 2,700 residents in the the district (Sec. 1, Pg. 1).
Prohibits transfer of licenses between districts (Sec. 1, Pg. 1).
Prohibits the issuance of new licenses above the aforementioned quotas (Sec. 1, Pg. 2).
Specifies that the above provisions do not require the forfeiture of licenses in effect on or before October 1, 1992 (Sec. 1, Pg. 2).
Authorizes the Board to reduce the number of licenses owned in a given district if the amount in effect before the above date exceeds the new quota, but only by natural means such as bankruptcy or voluntary relinquishment (Sec. 1, Pg. 2).
Authorizes the Board to hold relinquished or revoked licenses in temporary reserve for 1 year, after which they are extinguished if not re-issued (Sec. 1, Pg. 2).
Specifies that this act takes effect July 1, 2022 (Sec. 2, Pg. 3).
