Title: Requires State Candidates to Report Campaign Expenditures in Greater Detail
Vote to pass a bill that requires state candidates to report campaign expenditures in greater detail.
Requires state candidates report on all expenditures regardless of amount, and contributions over $100 (Sec. 7).
Authorizes unitemized contributions up to $100, but specifies if unitemized contributions make up at least $2,000 or more in a statement period they must be reported (Sec. 8).
Requires PACs to be audited if unitemized contributions make up more than 30 percent of the candidates contributions (Sec. 8-9).
Requires reporting on expenditures made within 10 days of an election if the expenditure is over (Sec. 10):
$5,000 for a statewide candidate;
$3,000 for a senate candidate; or
$1,000 for a house candidate.
Requires that beginning July 1, 2022 any PAC that registers in the state must submit a valid government photo ID to the registry of election finance for each officer, treasurer of the committee, and at least one individual who directly controls expenditures (Sec. 13).
Requires reporting of expenditures if a 501(c)(4)(5) or (6) organization spends at least $5,000 for communications naming or showing the likeness of a candidate within 60 days of an election (Sec. 13).
