Vote to pass a bill that limits class sizes.

Highlights:

• Requires school districts to create a plan to reduce the size of (Sec. 3):

• Kindergarten to 3rd grade classes to no more than 20 students;

• 4th to 8th grade classes to no more than 23 students;

• High school classes to no more than 25 students; and

• Physical education and performing arts classes to no more than 40 students.

• Requires an additional 20% of a school district’s classrooms to comply with the above standards each year (Sec. 3).

• Requires the plan to include information about classroom spaces added to meet class size targets and to be made publicly available on the school district’s website (Sec. 3).
