Title: Requires State and National Flags Purchased with Taxpayer Funds be Manufactured in the United States
Vote to pass a bill that requires that all state and national flags purchased with taxpayer funds in Arkansas be manufactured in the United States.
Requires all U.S. and state flags purchased by a public entity with public funds be manufactured in the United States (Sec. 1).
Defines “public funds” as state, county, or local government funding appropriated to any department or agency under state law (Sec. 1).
Defines “public entity” as the following instrumentalities funded in whole, or in part by public funds (Sec. 1):
The Department of Agriculture;
The Department of Commerce;
The Department of Corrections;
The Department of Education;
The Department of Energy and Environment;
The Department of Finance and Administration;
The Department of Health;
The Department of Human Services;
The Department of Inspector General;
The Department of Labor and Licensing;
The Department of Military;
The Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism;
The Department of Public Safety;
The Department of Transformation and Shared Services;
The Department of Veterans Affairs;
The Department of Agriculture;
The offices of constitutional officers;
Political subdivisions of the state;
Public school districts;
Public school boards and directors;
Charter schools;
Institutions of higher education
The State Highway Commission;
The Arkansas State Game and Fish Commission; and
All courts of the state of Arkansas.
