Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the use of medical cannabis for those who qualify.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the state to issue up to 10 licenses to medical cannabis centers and specifies that they would then be allowed to open up to 8 medical cannabis centers across the state (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that only individuals with the following qualifying conditions may possess and purchase cannabis from licensed dispensaries, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):

• Cancer;

• Epilepsy;

• post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD);

• Parkinson’s disease

• Sickel cell anemia;

• Crohn’s disease; 

• multiple sclerosis; or

• A terminal illness with a remaining life expectancy less than 6 months.

• Establishes that this bill shall take effect upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 8).
