Title: Requires Students Use the Same Restroom that Aligns with Their Sex at Birth
Vote to pass a bill that requires students use the same restroom or changing room that aligns with their sex at birth.
Requires all schools develop policies requiring students use the same single or multiple occupancy restroom or changing area that corresponds with their sex at birth (Sec. 1).
Defines “sex” for the purposes of this bil as an individuals biological sex as female or male listed on their official birth certificate (Sec. 2).
Defines “multiple occupancy restroom or changing area” as an area in a school building designed or designated to be used by more than one individual at a time, in which students may be in various stages of undress in the presence of other students or individuals, including, but not limited to (Sec. 2):
Restrooms;
Lockerooms;
Changing rooms; or
Shower rooms.
Defines “single occupancy restroom or changing area” as an area in a school building designed or designated to be used by one individual at a time, in which students may be in various stages of undress including, but not limited to (Sec. 2):
Restrooms;
Lockerooms;
Changing rooms; or
Shower rooms.
Prohibits individuals from entering a single or multiple occupancy restroom or changing area that does not correspond with their biological sex (Sec. 3).
Authorizes schools to provide alternative facilities upon request to school officials for alternative facilities from the parents of the student (Sec. 3).
