Vote to pass a bill that establishes a midwife state licensure process.

Highlights:

• Defines “board” as the board of midwifery (Sec. 5).

• Requires individuals practicing midwifery in the state of Iowa be at least 21 years of age and obtain a license approved by the board by July 1, 2024 (Sec. 14).

• Exempts members of religious groups, native american tribes, and mennonite or amish communities that provide traditional midwife services from the aforementioned midwife license requirements (Sec. 14).
