Title: Establishes a Midwife State Licensure Process
Vote to pass a bill that establishes a midwife state licensure process.
Defines “board” as the board of midwifery (Sec. 5).
Requires individuals practicing midwifery in the state of Iowa be at least 21 years of age and obtain a license approved by the board by July 1, 2024 (Sec. 14).
Exempts members of religious groups, native american tribes, and mennonite or amish communities that provide traditional midwife services from the aforementioned midwife license requirements (Sec. 14).
