Vote to pass a bill that establishes a goal of 50% dispatchable energy generation for the ERCOT grid to level the playing field between dispatchable and renewable generation.

Highlights:

• Establishes a goal of 50% dispatchable generation for the ERCOT grid by January 1, 2024 to level the playing field between dispatchable and renewable generation (Sec. 1).

• Defines “dispatchable generation” as generating technologies other than technologies considered non-dispatable under previous legislation (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes independent organizations under the ERCOT power region to establish a tracking system to award dispatable generation credits to new generation facilities that meet eligibility requirements (Sec. 1).
