Vote to pass a bill that would allow a second parent to adopt a child with the consent of the child's legal guardian.
Highlights:
- Requires a home study report, but if the second parent was present for an earlier home study report conducted within the last six months the same report may be used [sec 1]. - Requires a statement be presented to the court disclosing certain felony or misdemeanor convictions [sec 2]. -Requires that an employer who gives paternity/maternity leave for biological parents must also offer it to individuals adopting a child [sec. 4].
