Title: Anti-Bullying Bill
A vote to pass a bill requiring the Department of Education to create anti-bullying and anti-harassment guidelines.
- Urges school districts to work with law enforcement agencies in the implementation of the schools policy [sec. 1310C.]. - Requires the Department of Education to create an anti-bullying policy that conforms to the State Board of Educations Model Anti-Bullying Policy, which covers bullying based on race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression [sec. 1310C.]. - Requires the Department of Education to make this new policy available to public and private schools, and suggests schools adopt the policy [sec. 1310C.]. - Requires, in conjunction with HB 4162, that if schools dont adopt this new policy, then they implement their own policies in conformity with the State Board of Educations Model Anti-Bullying Policy [Sec. 1310C]. - States that if HB 4162 is not enacted, then this bill will not take effect [Enacting Section 1].
