Title: Expanding Drunk Driving Restrictions
Vote to pass a bill that enforces new restrictions for drivers convicted of driving with a blood-alcohol content higher than 0.15.
- Prohibits those convicted from driving again until ignition interlocks are installed on all household vehicles [Sec. 625 (26)]. - Defines ignition interlocks as a device that requires the motorist to take a built-in Breathalyzer test to measure their breath alcohol level, preventing the ignition from starting if the reading is 0.025 grams per 210 liters of breath or higher (Sec. 20B). - Requires those convicted to undergo an alcohol treatment program for at least one year [Sec. 625b (5)].
