Vote to pass a bill that authorizes law enforcement to seize the motor vehicles of undocumented immigrant when they are involved in an accident or violate traffic laws.

Highlights:

- Allows the court to consider the costs incurred by the victim of an accident involving an undocumented immigrant, if the vehicle is sold upon forfeiture. The court may order that a portion of the proceeds be paid to the victim [sec. 1 (d)]. - Allows the owner of a motor vehicle that was seized to present a sworn affidavit denying knowledge of the operator's immigration status in order to have the vehicle returned [sec. 1 (c)]. - Establishes the effective date of this Act as July 1, 2008 (Sec. 2). - This is a substitute bill sponsored by the House Rules Committee.
