Vote to pass a bill that requires the Count Clerk and Recorder to mail a confirmation card no later than 90 days before a mail ballot election to any registered voter who has been marked as "inactive" in order to update the registration records.
- Requires the confirmation card to have a returnable portion that is preaddressed, prepaid and marked "Do Not Forward" for the elector to verify their registration status for the purpose of casting a ballot in the the mail ballot election [sec. 1 (1)]. - Establishes that an elector must return the confirmation card signed and completed in order to be deemed "active." If the confirmation card is returned as undeliverable, the voter remains recorded as "inactive" [sec. 1 (2)]. - Classifies a voter as "inactive" if they fail to vote in two consecutive general elections (Sec. 2). - Establishes the effective date of this act as July 1, 2008 (Sec. 3).
