Vote to pass a bill specifying rules and regulations intended to reduce the incidence of lead poisoning, particularly in children.

Highlights:

- Requires that abortion clinics built before 1978 have an assessment for lead hazards before December 31, 2011 and a clearance exam every three years after the initial assessment. (Sec. 12) - Requires retail establishments that sell paint or painting products to do all of the following: (Sec. 16) - Sell lead-test kits capable of determining the presence of a lead-based paint hazard, - Provide to customers the federal Environmental Protection Agency pamphlet "Protect Your Family from Lead in Your Home" or a similar source of information approved by the state department. - Ensure that employees who provide advice to customers concerning paint and paint products receive training programs about lead hazards. Assigns a study group to examine issues concerning the division of family resources, child care providers and issues related to childhood lead poisoning prevention, including testing of child care facilities built before 1978 and children in child care. (Sec. 21) - Removes provisions on child care providers that required lead assessments before December 31, 2011 and biennially after the initial assessment present in the Senate version of the bill. - Removes provisions on child care providers that required proof of a blood-level test on children over nine months old before enrollment with a licensed child care provider present in the Senate version of the bill.
