-Prohibits the use by restaurants of oils, shortenings, and margarines containing artificial trans fat for use in spreads or frying, except for the deep frying of yeast dough or cake batter, effective January 1, 2010 (Sec. 1). -Prohibits restaurants from serving food containing artificial trans fat, including oil and shortening that contains artificial trans fat, effective January 1, 2011 (Sec. 1). -Exempts food sold or served in a manufacturer's original sealed package, food containing a legally-required label that lists the trans fat content at less than 0.5 grams per serving, and food served at public school cafeterias (Sec.1). -Specifies that a violation of the provisions of this bill shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $25 and not more than $1,000 (Sec. 1).
