Title: Land Conservation-Land Acquisition Funding
Vote Smart's Synopsis:
Vote on an amendment that would redirect $450 million from land acquisition programs to funding for urban parks and recreation, farmland protection and endangered species recovery programs. The $450 million would come from the $2.8 billion a year in revenue generated by oil and gas drilling on federal lands. The original bill provides $270 million a year for fish and wildlife conservation and roughly $100 million for the Urban Parks and Recreation Recovery Program.
