Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the sale of a firearm at a gun show to any individual that does not possess a concealed handgun permit without the vendor first conducting a criminal background check and receiving a determination from the State Police that the individual is not prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Highlights:

- Classifies the crime of selling, renting, trading, or transferring a firearm in violation of the provisions of this Act as a Class 6 felony (Sec. 1). - Requires designated dealers of gun show promoters to provide a means by which vendors may obtain the approval or denial of their firearm transfer requests based on a criminal history record information check (Sec. 1). - Requires designated dealers of gun show promoters to collect a $2 fee for conducting a criminal background check and $5 for conducting an out-of-state criminal history, as required by existing law for firearms dealers, and allows dealers to charge and retain an additional fee of up to $15 for obtaining criminal history record information for gun show vendors (Sec. 1). - Requires gun show promoters to verify the identity of each participating vendor and requires the vendor to sign a ledger containing identifying information. The promoter shall maintain a copy of these records at their permanent place of business for four years following the date of the show (Sec. 1). - Requires gun show promoters to post a notice in a prominent location setting forth the requirement for a criminal history information check (Sec. 1). - Exempts the sale or transfer of antique firearms, curios, or relics from the provisions of this Act (Sec. 1). - Requires the State Police to provide a means by which the designated dealer of a gun show promoter may obtain criminal history record information (Sec. 1).
