Vote to pass a bill that allows the Department of Family Services to instruct the Department of Transportation to suspend the driver's license of an individual who owes more than $5000 in child support and has not paid for at least 90 days prior to suspension.

Highlights:

-Provides that a person may file a request for a hearing to stay the suspension within 60 days of receiving notification of the suspension (Sec. 1). -Requires the department to notify the individual of his/her right to appeal before official suspension due to a dispute regarding any of the following issues (Sec. 1):

    -the amount of child support owed; -the identity of the obligor in the notice of suspension; or -the willfulness of actions or inaction that led to not paying child support.
-Revokes the driver's license suspension once the child support payment has been met or the obligor has entered into a payment plan (Sec. 1).
