A vote to pass a bill that requires elected officials from districts of 5,000 or more to disclose certain information about employees and appointees who made contributions to the campaign, while limiting the amount and type of disclosures required of statewide elected officials.

Highlights:

-Requires each elected official from a voting district with a population of 5,000 or more (excluding statewide elected officials) to disclose the name, address, job title, and salary of any person who is directly hired by the elected official to serve as an agency head and who made a contribution in excess of $1,000 to the elected official's campaign and the amount of such contribution, as well as for any person appointed by the elected official to a board or commission which has the power of appropriations for funds $10,000 or more a year and who made a contribution in excess of $1,000 to the elected official's campaign and the amount of such contribution (Sec. 1). -Requires any person appointed by the official within one year of a contribution to disclose finance information, including salary and the amount of the contribution (Sec. 1). -Requires each official to compile a list of all positions whose occupant will be subject to disclosure under this law. Requires the ethics board to notify the official if they find there is someone missing from the list, and requires the official to provide requested information within thirty days of notification (Sec. 1). -Outlines disclosures for statewide elected officials to include appointed agency heads who made a contribution of $1,000 or more, as well as appointees with the power of appropriations for funds $10,000 or more a year and who made a contribution of $1,000 or more (Sec. 1).
