Title: Handguns in Restaurants
Vote to pass a bill that allows for a person with a permit to bring a concealed weapon into a restaurant that serves alcohol.
-Excludes drugstores selling prescription alcohol, candies with less than 5% alcohol by weight, distributors of ethyl alcohol for non-drinking purposes, and places where alcohol is used for religious ceremonies (Sec. 1). -Allows a person with a legitimately obtained permit to carry a concealed handgun on the premises of a restaurant that serves alcohol unless the business owner posts a sign prohibiting weapons on the premises (Sec. 2). -Prohibits the consumption of alcohol by someone who brings a gun inside of a restaurant that allows firearms (Sec.3).\ -Protects restaurant owners from liability from firearm related incidents regardless of whether or not a sign prohibiting firearms was posted (Sec. 5). -Exempts any member of a Sheriff's posse from needing a concealed weapons permit (Secs. 7, 8).
