Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I believe in integrity, intensity and imagination when it comes to working within our society. North Dakota is designed to have a part-time legislature to ensure legislators remain active within their communities. It is my belief that our state should have a diverse representation of leaders in Bismarck that are willing to work within their districts and fight for progress within the state. District 42 contains the University of North Dakota, and is directly impacted by tuition increases and changes in higher education. As a graduate of this campus and employee of the institution, I believe that I can address the concerns of faculty and students and work to create a lasting solution with our tuition structure. I also have a diverse background with K-12 Education and environmental studies, as I have worked with both professionally.

The most important element to my candidacy is that I remain open-minded in all circumstances. I retain personal beliefs, but am willing to explore and learn about all issues before forming an opinion. North Dakota needs leaders that are not hindered by self-pride or arrogance, but instead strive to create a better living environment for everyone within the district, and ultimately, the state.
