Dear Friend,

I didn't have a lot of breaks growing up. I came from a broken home and moved around a lot as a kid. Times were not easy. But I had the love of a mother who struggled to provide for me, and the help of some wonderful mentors who I met along the way.

What I learned is that anything is possible and our lives are not pre-determined by fate. America made it possible for a kid like me to get a fine education, make an honest living, and own a home where I could raise a wonderful family. It doesn't get much better than that.

But that America is slipping away. Massive debt and skyrocketing spending, joblessness, stagnant wages, soaring education costs…the list goes on. If we don't change course now, we will be the first generation to leave our kids with a weaker, less prosperous, less hopeful nation than the one we inherited. That's wrong.

In 2010, you made it possible for a regular guy like me to become a U.S. Senator. With that high honor, I set out to use what influence I have to ensure that every other kid lives in a country where it doesn't matter where you come from, only where you want to go.

Partisan bickering and political gamesmanship won't help us save that America, and I refuse to participate. I've been an independent voice and I always do what I think is right for Massachusetts and America, regardless of party.

I haven't been a Senator for long, but my mission hasn't changed and it's why I'm running for a full term. There's much more work to do to and I hope to have your support.

Sincerely,

Scott Brown
