Pro-life a) Do you consider yourself pro-choice or pro-life?
No b) Should abortion be legal only within the first trimester of pregnancy?
Yes c) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
Yes d) Should abortion be legal when the life of the woman is endangered?
Yes e) Do you support requiring parental notification before an abortion is performed on a minor?
Yes f) Do you support requiring parental consent before an abortion is performed on a minor?
No g) Do you support sexual education programs that include information on abstinence, contraceptives, and HIV/STD prevention methods?
Yes h) Do you support abstinence-only sexual education programs?
Abortion should not be legal except in extreme cases. Sex education properly belongs with the parents. If the purpose of sex education programs is to reduce teen sexual behavior abstinence-only programs have been more succesful than conventional "moral-free" programs.

Yes d) Closing the Nevada State Prison in Carson City
Yes e) Increasing tuition rates at public universities
Yes f) Instituting mandatory furloughs and layoffs for state employees
Yes g) Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients
Yes h) Privatizing certain government services
Nevada faces a three billion dollar shortfall. We must cut spending. The spending levels are based on a Nevada economy that no longer exists. Transportation infrastructure is paid primarily from gasoline taxes and spending levels must stay within revenue collected.
Nevada's private sector is in crisis. If anything, taxes should be reduced to stimulate growth and attract new businesses here.
Rainy day fund is already drained. Taxing prostitution turns Nevada government into the same status as pimps. Implementing as much of the Spending And Government Efficiency (SAGE) report as possible is the best front line approach. Privatization will help provide the same or better levels of service while reducing costs and providing private sector jobs.

c) Do you support limits on the following types of contributions to candidates for state government?

Yes a) Do you support limits on the number of terms for Nevada governors?
Yes b) Do you support limits on the number of terms for Nevada state legislators?

Yes d) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
Yes e) Should a minor who sends sexually-explicit or nude photos by cell phone face criminal charges?
Yes f) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
I fully support Arizona's efforts to combat illegal immigration. Drug policy should be set at the state level. Current top-down "one-size fits all" federal laws allow no flexibility.
Yes a) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector?
No b) Do you support increased state funding for job-training programs that re-train displaced workers?
No c) Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits?
Yes d) Do you support providing financial incentives to the private sector for the purpose of job creation?
Yes e) Do you support increased spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
No f) Do you support providing direct financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure?
Legitimate public works I will support. Private banks should provide assistance, not an already broke state government. If the state is to provide assistance where will the money come from? If the state is to provide job-training for displaced workers where will the funds come from to pay for the training?
Yes a) Do you support national education standards?
Yes b) Do you support requiring public schools to administer high school exit exams?
Yes c) Do you support using a merit pay system for teachers?
Yes d) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
Yes e) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid?
No f) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Nevada high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
What part of "illegal" do we not understand? Illegals do not belong here. This is a zero sum game and every dollar spent on illegals or any government service like in-state tuition used by illegals takes those same dollars or services away from legal immigrants and American citizens The whole public school system needs a healthy dose of free market competition. National standards are fine but in truth the federal government's involvement in something that should be strictly a local/state issue - like education - will generally make things worse.
No a) Do you support state funding for the development of alternative energy?
No b) Do you support state funding for the development of traditional domestic energy sources (e.g. coal, natural gas, oil)?
No c) Do you support providing financial incentives to farms that produce biofuel crops?
Yes d) Do you support state funding for improvements to Nevada's energy infrastructure?
No e) Do you support state funding for open space preservation?
No f) Do you support enacting environmental regulations aimed at reducing the effects of climate change?
The free market will provide alternative forms of energy when the price structure makes it cost competitive. I think the whole "global warming" issue is highly suspect and slanted. I am a licensed geothermal contractor and a solar contractor as well and the alternative energy issue rarely pencils out without huge government subsidies.
No a) Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
No b) Do you support requiring background checks on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes c) Do you support allowing individuals to carry concealed guns?
No d) Do you support requiring a license for gun possession?
Both my wife and I are Concealed Carry Weapon permit holders in Nevada and are proud members of the National Rifle Association.
No a) Do you support a universally-accessible, publicly-administered health insurance option?
Yes b) Do you support expanding access to health care through commercial health insurance reform?
Yes c) Do you support interstate health insurance compacts?
No d) Should individuals be required to purchase health care insurance?
Yes e) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits?
No f) Do you support legalizing physician-assisted suicide in Nevada?
Yes g) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes?
Getting the government involved in health care will make things worse not better. Try to name anything the government has taken over that has resulted in costs going down and service going up. Medical marijuana is a bit of a joke. But for some poor crippled person that may escape a very depressing state of mind and physical condition, why not? I don't see much difference between that and shooting them full of morphine.
Yes a) Should marriage only be between one man and one woman?
No b) Should Nevada allow same-sex couples to form civil unions?
c) Do you support state funding for stem cell research?
d) Do you support state funding for embryonic stem cell research?
No e) Do you support the state's use of affirmative action?
No f) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Nevada's anti-discrimination laws?
No g) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Nevada's anti-discrimination laws?
No h) Do you support the legalization and regulation of a state lottery?
Lotteries would require a change in the state constitution. The Nevada voters overwhelmingly voted in favor of putting in our state constitution a prohibition of so called "gay marriage" and I will obey their decision. I am not certain on the stem cell issue so will remain neutral for now. So called "affirmative action" is nothing more than racial discrimination with a politically correct title and should be abolished.
