I feel welfare benefits should be provided for a step up not a hand out and temporary. Drug testing monthly should be a mandatory stipulation to qualify for benefits and remain on for any amount of time.
If we could make business attractive in this state we would be able to lower taxes in general. Businesses unfortunately do not want to come or expand to RI. When business is striving the economy booms, jobs are created, consumer spending increases....therefore taking the tax burden away.
I am here for my constituents. I need and want to hear from you. Its about what you want. I believe we are in need of a Constitutional Convention. Delegates need to be elected by "we the people" not our General assembly. We need to take back our power as voters and citizens.

a) Do you support limits on the following types of contributions for state candidates?

Yes 1) Individual
Yes 2) Political Action Committee
Yes 3) Corporate
Yes 4) Political Party
Yes b) Should candidates for state office be encouraged to meet voluntary spending limits?
Yes c) Do you support requiring full and timely disclosure of campaign finance information?
Yes d) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
Yes e) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
We need Voter ID...Our current Senator (Cool Rumsey) in District 34 wants to repeal the mandatory voter ID. I believe this is a grave mistake. (We need a ID to rent a movie.) I strongly support having voter ID. Voting is one of the most important things we do as Americans. My Forefather fought for this Right. We know our President is waiting to declare Amnesty after this coming election. Without voter ID in place this will be devastating to our country.
Yes a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes b) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
c) Do you support legalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana?
d) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
e) Should a minor who sends sexually-explicit or nude photos by cell phone face criminal charges?
Yes f) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
Yes g) Do you support requiring labels on foods that have been genetically engineered or contain genetically modified ingredients?
I am a great supporter of labeling our GMO foods. GMO's are responsible for many diseases that are greatly ravishing our country. I have been researching this for many years. I personally want to know what I am putting into my body. (If you do not feel the same way don't need to read the labels.) Genetically altering our food will and is killing the natural production of our food chain.

Yes e) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
Yes f) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid?
No g) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Rhode Island high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
I think we need a common education system through the country. I do not suppoet this new common core system as the right one. Teachers should be the prime source of education not the Gov't. This system was developed by the Gov't. Educators/Teachers should be the prime source of this system collaboratively not the Government.
No a) Do you support state funding for the development of alternative energy?
No b) Do you support state funding for the development of traditional domestic energy sources (e.g. coal, natural gas, oil)?
c) Do you support state funding for improvements to Rhode Island's energy infrastructure?

Yes e) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
I need to further research the above questions before giving a definitive answer.
a) Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes c) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns?
d) Should a license be required for gun possession?
We have laws already in place for these issues. They just need to be enforced. The gun crimes that are committed in the United States are by illegal firearms not legal ones.
a) Do you support a universally-accessible, publicly-administered health insurance option?
b) Do you support expanding access to health care through commercial health insurance reform?
Yes c) Do you support interstate health insurance compacts?

I think that a marriage is between a man and women. I agree with Civil unions. Civil unions do not exclude any rights that a married couple have.
