Because student loan debt has the potential to cause a national financial crisis, I would implement a long-term volunteer program that would result in student loan deferment and forgiveness. The cost to cover would come indirectly through increased economic stimulus as well as a decrease in costs for the programs they volunteer through. There are few people who can afford to cover the increasing costs of Long-Term Care. In the end, many require the assistance of Medicaid to pay for their care. I would expand Medicare to cover permanent stays in Long-Term Care through a slight FICA increase.
