What is the Political Courage Test?

Missouri Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I am personally against abortion, and if everybody was able to significiantly think through their actions before committing to them, this along with so many other things would not even be an issue. I don't know what each and every persons situation is, and as such cannot personally contribute to what they should or should not do. I would rather an abortion take place, than a child end up in a situation where they won't receive the nurturing they need, or wind up in a system where they may never get adopted.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
I don't want taxes period, but everything being what it is I think we need to simplify the system. If we maintain a bracketed tax system we need to say this is the percentage you pay and stick to that. There shouldn't be books of tax forms, if we are going to have taxes extorted out of our pay checks they could at least make it easy on us and just have one form.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I think the Citizens United decision got it right. It is a form of freedom of speech.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Corporations aren't going to put that money anywhere else but in their coffers and in big bonus checks to executives, so it won't do any real good. Federal spending only cost the taxpayers. Lower taxes and give me more money in my pay check, if people have more money they will likely spend more, which will create economic growth.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Let each state evaluate their needs and adjust accordingly.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Let the free market do the work. Regulations on emissions are good for everybody in the long run. Regulations aren't necessarily a bad thing.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
There is a middle ground that is both constitutional and everyone can agree on, but nobody will sit down and talk it out like adults. They either want to go way to far in one direction or the other. Let 2A speak for itself.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Portions. While I want everybody to have access to health care, I don't believe the onus should be on everybody to pay for it, and I don't think there should be a penalty for choosing not to have healthcare.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Neither is productive. We need to figure our immigration system, but a wall and forcing people to go back first is a step in the wrong direction. If they have been working, paying taxes, and staying out of trouble, there isn't much of a logical reason to take such drastic measures. Let's simplify it.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
It has more benefits than negatives in my eyes. Legalize it!
No Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
Each has additional problems that only become apparent after action is taken. Diplomatic action needs to be pursued first.
-End foreign aid to all recipients. -Fix our infrastructure. -Take care of our Veterans the way they should.
