Mississippi Gubernatorial Election 2019 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes b) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
Yes c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
abortions have been illegal at one time in history. it didn't work then and it won't work now. you have to educate the young people and tell them to abstain from exchanging body fluids. there are other ways to have sex no including intercourse. keep the sperm from the egg. the young people should be taught by the schools about safe sex practices and to prevent teenage pregnancies. teen age mothers should speak to school age girls to help prevent choices which may scar them for life. prohibition doesn't work.

Yes f) Do you support limiting the use of "copycat" or "model bills" by Mississippi's state legislature?
I believe in small government and term limits. the government should live within it's means. balanced budgets are good and get rid of outdated and antiquated laws. the legislative branch of the government needs to be reigned back in. when the government is the biggest employer in the country, it is to big. the founding fathers never intended for the federal government ever to get so big. the federal government was suppose to delegate authority to the states and let the states manage their own affairs. term limits would help. give me back my liberties.
Yes a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
No b) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
Yes c) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
Yes d) Do you support restoring voting rights to ex-felons?
Yes e) Do you support the legalization of industrial hemp farming?
recreational marijuana is another area the state needs to look into legalizing. Mississippi has been growing marijuana for over 50 years at the university of mississippi. the only federal grow in the country. some people would say that's hypocritical. the rest of the country is legalizing cannabis. why does mississippi have to be last? It's time for Mississippi to take a leadership roll in the expanding cannabis industry in the country. Prohibition doesn't work and never will. it's time to legalize all drugs and stop this silly war against your fellow Americans. Land of the Free.
No a) Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes b) Do you support lowering state income taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes c) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector?
Yes d) Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits?
No e) Do you support requiring welfare applicants to pass a drug test in order to receive benefits?
Yes f) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage of Mississippi?
Yes g) Do you support requiring employers to provide paid family leave?
the state of mississippi is poverty riddled. We need to increase the per capita income of our residents. there are 68 counties in mississippi that are poverty stricken. we need to educate our way out of poverty. the cannabis industry would be good for mississippi and help restore the poverty stricken areas of the state.
Yes a) Do you support adopting federal education standards in Mississippi?
No b) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
Yes c) Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from Mississippi high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
Yes d) Do you support legislation that would create an online preschool program in Mississippi?
you have to educate your way out of poverty. we increase revenues with new sources of funds and we may can offer two year free colleges to the students and you should have trade schools for the students who wish to pursue these careers. kindergarten is of great importance and we need to meet the needs of the special students. we need to increase the high school graduation rates in the state and bring our standards up to national levels. reading in the first grade is an admirable goal. Let the retired people back in the schools as mentors.
Yes a) Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No b) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
Yes c) Do you support increasing state funding for clean drinking water initiatives?
you need safe water, food and air to breath to sustain life. we need to get away from nuclear weapons and power. radiation stays active for tens of thousands of years. we can convert to natural gas which mississippi has an abundance of. mississippi is blessed with a multitude of natural resources. we should promote and maintain their beauty.
No a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Yes b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes c) Should teachers be allowed to bring guns into the classroom?
Yes d) Should a license be required for gun ownership?
the second amendment guarantees the right of the american citizens the right to bear arms. once you prohibit something you create a black market for the item. guns are apart of America. Guns were guaranteed by the founding fathers so people could defend themselves and their property and families. if you ban guns then only the criminals will have them. I believe you should be able to protect yourself and in stand your ground laws.
No a) Should the state government increase funding for treatment facilities to combat opioid abuse?
No b) Do you support Medicaid expansion through Mississippi's health care programs?
Yes c) Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance?
Yes d) Do you support legislation that grants citizens the right to choose to die through euthanasia?
No e) Do you support eliminating religious exemptions for vaccinations?
It's all about quality of life with me. if your quality of life deteriorates enough then you should be able to make the call to take yourself out of this realm of reality. Old people deserve respect and the best way to do that is with euthanasia. I'm a chronic pain suffer and my pain is only going to get worse. My quality of life deteriorates with age. I don't want to live to 100 in agonizing pain and paying taxes to my government. I think the government wants you to live to 100 so you can continue paying taxes.
Yes a) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Mississippi's anti-discrimination laws?
No b) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Mississippi's anti-discrimination laws?
Yes c) Do you support greater efforts by Mississippi state government in closing the pay gap between men and women?
yes we need equal pay for everyone in the state. we need to love each other as we love ourselves. this includes everyone.
Prioities are: legal cannabis industry, increased revenues, increased jobs, increased tourism and affordable health care. we need to raise the per capita income for the citizens of the state and stop this good ole boy system with term limits. if laws don't work get rid of them. cut regulations so small businesses can thrive. get rid of regulatory authorities which hinder or restrict your liberties. decrease the size of government and insure that children get a good education and evey opportunity to succeed. end the actuarial tables at age 100 and no one over 80 years old to hold office.
to bring a legal cannabis industry to the state and to increase revenues. the program will be paid for with the revenues generated from a new and thriving cannabis industry. we can use the extra revenues to fund education, maintain and build infrastructure, increase tourism for the state. Colorado's cannabis industry has generated an increase of over 50% for the state. Create new jobs with a new industry, no tax credits needed for the cannabis industry. the rest of the country is doing it why does Mississippi have to be last. rest in reason move in passion. sincerely mr. bud
