Lynda Bennett has provided voters with clear stances on key issues by responding to the 2020 Political Courage Test.
Pro-life | Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I am Pro-Life. Life begins at conception. |
No | In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No | Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare? |
Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions? |
No | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes | Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth? |
No | Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Government schools are failing. School choice for parents to decide what best suits their child is what is needed to educate our kids. |
No | Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No | Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
80% of our energy comes from oil. 10% comes from gas. 10% comes from solar and wind. We would be plunged into the dark ages without a source of robust energy. Energy independence means national security. Subsidizing solar and wind is picking winners and losers. It's a scheme to redistribute wealth - socialism. If folks want solar, wind or any of the other renewables, individuals should pay for them, not the taxpayer. |
No | Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I am a supporter of the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment protects the remainder of our inalienable rights guaranteed to us in our Bill of Rights. Every city with draconian gun laws suffers from high crime rates because only the criminals have guns. |
Yes | Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Absolutely. The ACA is a horror. It's unaffordable and the care is substandard. Look no further than the VA. |
Yes | Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Yes | Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Because you break into my house, does not give you the right to stay. They are costing taxpayers millions of dollars in health care, schools, law enforcement, crime. If employers were fined for hiring illegals, illegals would self deport. If non-citizens come here to work on a legal visa, they work and then return to their home country. They need to come through the front door, follow the guide lines for becoming a citizen, learn our language as our naturalized American citizens. In short, they need to obey our immigration laws. |
Yes | Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
No | Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
If a country like North Korea or Iran has a nuclear weapon and makes credible threats to our nation, we must protect ourselves. The most important duty the Federal government has is to protect its citizens from those who would do us harm. When the US does not present power on the world stage, and we fail to take decisive action, we get 911. President Trump is doing a stellar job of protecting our nation while keeping us out of war. |
Yes | Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
If we had true free and fair trade, the US would be operating on a level playing field. However, that is not the case. Countries like China and Brazil subsidize their manufacturers to drive US companies out of business. China steals our intellectual property. The tariffs our great and wise President has put in place has driven these unfair players to the negotiating table so we can all be doing business following the same set of rules. |
