What is the Political Courage Test?

Hawaii Congressional Election 2020 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I do not support abortion, this is why. The advances in medical science performing an abortion to save the life of a mother is advanced enough to curtail most but not all possibilities of such a procedure. In extreme medical or accident cases where this possibility could exist, to abort is deferred solely to the biological mother or father. Killing babies in/out of the womb is a crime, life is precious. I am pro-life because my siblings and I are adopted and their children and their kid's, kids would not be here if their birth moms chose, abortion.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
(1) SS should be audited an streamed lined for efficiency and solvency. (2) Stop congress borrowing from S.S. 2018 SS Trustees Report projected sufficient to payout benefits until 2034, after program sustain 77 percent payouts. Don't trust government to manage SS program (see deficit, cause of 2008 crash). (3) support independent watchdog to monitor S.S., who reports to the congress and public monthly of the solvency FUND. (4) Allow real time Management to ensure solvency for current and future users. (5) Ensure S.S. agency head has no history with Federal Reserve or their conglomerates. (6) Diversify funds investments for longevity.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Unions are necessary. Unions and Special interest groups should not have influence on elections. Endorsements have the prospective candidate already bought and paid for before they even get elected. Instead of serving their constituents and the people (non Union) that voted for them, they pander and are compromised to line the pockets of their contributors or support their special interests. I think Unions/Special interests groups should not be allowed to endorse a candidate (2) Legal Protection for employee in regards to employment opportunities for promotion, if they placed a "no vote" for union endorse. Don't ask, Don't tell, should apply.
Yes Do you support increasing defense spending?
A strong national defense and military is important to the safety and security of our country.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
I do not support using the tax payer funds to bail out or fund programs in which the "Taxpayer" is left with the debt. I support streamlined business solvency loans at very low repay interest during crisis. These loan programs must have collateral and be paid back by those same businesses. The main thing in supporting/funding any program is "who's stuck with the bill". I rather be very stingy and wise with the peoples money, so the people are not burdened with the bill. Entrepreneurs are very brilliant, free enterprise will find a way, to build businesses.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Federal funds should be available to all K thru 12 qualifying schools, including charter schools, religious, private or home schools. These standards should not mandate specificity of curriculum used. Only a fair and reasonable, grading system. I only support, Federal Education Standards which do not violate the 1st amendment rights, "no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Standards should protect student and parents rights allowing "liberty, fairness, free access to any tax payer built school facilities, programs and equipment with no discrimination towards sexual, gender, religious, conscience, ethnicity allowing opt in/out" preferences w/o penalty.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I am in support of these programs only if the TAXPAYER benefits from tax credits or deductions and if the TAXPAYER funding loaned to corporations/ business/ industries are paid back to the people (in real dollars) back to the TAX PAYER FUNDS.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I support the second amendment. There are enough laws on the books to cover restrictions. Guns don't run around killing, law breaker(s), criminal(s), terrorist, deranged, psychopaths, evil people will use a gun/other weapon to commit a crime, murder or cause injury. Ownership of firearms should be for Law Abiding citizens of age who have passed a normal general back ground check, and are not guilty of a Federal crime or have a criminal history. Those who gain U.S. citizenship via immigration process have to wait 5 years after citizenship date to establish behavior history before applying for a firearm permit.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Yes Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
Health care during health crisis. Answer - It should be voluntary on the employers part. Congress and the US should ensure in a crisis folks who lost their jobs due to crisis, their unemployment benefits should cover medical coverage to a limit, any thing catastrophic should be viewed on a case by case basis. If individuals choose to be irresponsible and do (risky behavior) gets injured, when they know their coverage is limited to basic care, taxpayer should not pay for bad choices. Personal responsibility clause should be an acknowledgement for receiving Social Security Insurance or Unemployment Insurance or benefits.
Yes Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
We have an immigration process, those wishing to immigrate into the U.S. and become citizens should be held to use the already established process.
Yes Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Unknown Position Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
Do I support the reducing of intervention in Middle East Conflicts? Answer: I support the use of the U.S. military to protect and enforce our national interests, national security, economic, environmental, boarder, physical and medical safety and to support and defend the Constitutional rights of all U.S. Citizens and the survivor-ability of the United States of America as a nation, where ever the threat originates. We should prevent those enemies from initiating, sustaining and fighting a war/conflict on U.S. soil. Do you want a war in your state?
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
Removing international trade barriers "ONLY IF" those trade barriers are fare, responsible, equitable, and profitable and also does not put the U.S. at a National Security and Safety disadvantage. Removal of barriers cannot impede the U.S. government, industry, commerce and military from supporting, equipping or fighting a war.
1. Protect Economic, Health and Constitutional Rights of the citizens thru the redirection Federal tax funds. 2. Work with congressional members to revise the "Jones Act", to lower costs of goods shipped to Hawaii and provide the potential of more jobs, open market commerce competition, an opportunities for private and government partners to visualize bringing jobs back in ship maintenance and ship operations jobs locally and nationally. Also to modernize, operate and equip the Merchant Marine and Ready Reserve fleets, for Military Sea lift capabilities. 3. Be Reason, Respect, Take Positive Action and Responsible in Congress
