Issue Position

Congressman Evan Jenkins will protect Social Security and Medicare, benefits that West Virginia's seniors have worked hard their entire lives to receive. These programs must be preserved to fulfill our promises to our seniors, now and in the future.

Congressman Jenkins opposes the Obamacare-mandated cuts to Medicare Advantage, and he opposes the privatization of Social Security. During his time as a state legislator, Evan worked to lower costs of prescription drugs for seniors as well as to reduce the tax burden they face. Congressman Jenkins will work with his colleagues to ensure seniors receive the benefits they paid for and deserve.

Evan cosponsored legislation to ensure that seniors have access to prescription medications, especially those seniors in rural areas. He also voted to secure seniors' access to the doctors they choose to see. He also knows that receiving care in one's home is preferable when possible, and he cosponsored legislation to ensure this care is covered by Medicare. Rep. Jenkins will continue to be a champion of seniors in Washington.
