Hartzler on Passage of Long-Term Highways Bill

Statement

Date: Dec. 3, 2015
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Transportation

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) released the following statement upon House passage of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.

"Missourians rely on highways to get to and from work, grocery stores, daycares, and even little league games. The vast system of roads, highways, avenues, and boulevards that make life manageable are an undeniable necessity for almost every one of us. To that end, I am pleased that we were able to come together and pass this bill for the sake of all Americans. This bill strengthens and reforms our transportation program while returning more transportation decisions back to state and local governments, providing them long-term certainty they require to complete betterment and repair projects. By getting the federal bureaucracy out of the way and refocusing our priorities, this legislation will ensure the roads we all use continue to be safe and reliable."
