Takai Applauds Paris Climate Accords

Today, Congressman Takai, recent member of the Safe Climate Caucus in the House of Representatives, applauded the unveiling of the unprecedented Climate Agreement reached by 195 countries in Paris this weekend. The plan seeks to curb the effects of climate change in the 21st century.

"I am encouraged by the historical agreement reached this weekend that has been years in the works. It is time we take action now to protect our aina for the future of our keiki. Increasing our use of renewable energy sources, cutting emissions, and implementing greater sustainability practices are ways we can make a difference today, for the generations to come. We must ensure that not only Hawaii's unique and special environment is preserved, but learn to live together in our shared home of planet earth," Takai said.
