Pompeo Responds to Supreme Court's Ruling on Carr Brothers

Statement

Congressman Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) released the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court's 8-1 ruling today that the Kansas Supreme Court wrongly overturned the death penalty convictions of the Carr brothers:

"I commend the Supreme Court's decision to reinstate the death penalty on the Carr brothers. Justice has been delayed for far too long in this horrific crime. I continue to be dismayed at how the Kansas Supreme Court places its political agenda above the rule of law. Kansas courts should be interpreting the law, not rewriting it on a whim. This is not the first time that the Kansas Supreme Court has had to be corrected by the U.S. Supreme Court for refusing to follow the law; I hope it is the last."
