Issue Position

Keith supports comprehensive immigration reform that includes: a clear path to citizenship to those who are already in the U.S. working and paying taxes; expedited process for family reunification; and workable employment verification system with strict penalties for employers who knowingly hire undocumented immigrants. Keith also supports the DREAM Act, which increases access to higher education for the children of immigrants and gives them an opportunity to succeed and give back to their communities.

When the General Services Administration planned to move the local U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office three miles from any public transit location, Keith successfully pressed the GSA to abandon its plans and ensure that any new location would be easily reachable by public transportation.

Keith supports a "kids first" approach to the humanitarian crisis at the border and calls for respecting their right to due process under our nation's laws.
