Rep. Justin Moed of Indiana House District 97 testified last week before the Senate Standing Committee on Homeland Security & Transportation in support of Sen. Dennis Kruse's proposal (Senate Bill 27) to increase penalties on trains that stop for more than 10 minutes in busy intersections.

Moed says currently a fine is assessed, but the problem persists. The Indianapolis Democrat says he has had constituents complain that the problem exists at railroad crossings on the south side of the city.
