Issue Position: National Security

Issue Position

National security means a lot of things. It means a secure homeland and secure borders. It means strong alliances. It means a military that is second to none. It means a foreign policy that rewards friends and punishes foes.

To accomplish all of these things we first need to start rebuilding our military. Eight years of deliberate neglect by the Obama Administration has left our military undersized and without the equipment and weapons it needs to get the job done.

This does not mean a blank check however. Congress still has a duty to ensure that our tax dollars are spent wisely, which means reforming the procurement process in the Pentagon, so that weapons systems are produced on time and on budget.

Finally, our national debt remains a critical threat to our national security. David Gowan has cut spending and balanced budgets and knows how to get difficult job done. Gowan will help get our that fiscal house in order in Washington, D.C., reducing our national debt and making America stronger.
