Democrats: Durbin's Slander of Troops OK, But Telling Truth Is Not

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) today criticized Democrats for defending Sen. Dick Durbin's comments when he compared U.S. troops to Nazis yet are lashing out at Karl Rove for telling the truth.

"Democrats evidently have no problem defending someone who compares our troops to Nazis and terrorists to Holocaust victims, but they attack someone who tries to uphold the truth," Diaz-Balart said.

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence confirmed that Vice President Dick Cheney did not send former Ambassador Joe Wilson anywhere. Furthermore, both the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the CIA found that the assessments Wilson made in his report were wrong.

"Joe Wilson - who endorsed, advised and donated to John Kerry's presidential campaign - repeatedly made false claims and accusations regarding his Niger trip," Diaz-Balart concluded.
