BREAK IN TRANSCRIPT
HANNITY: Wow! Now, while the president struggles to defend his signature deal, many of America's closest allies in the Middle East -- they are attacking this agreement. And right here at home, politicians on both sides of the aisle have been extremely critical of the deal, including 2016 presidential hopeful Donald Trump, who called it terrible.
Joining us now is the man himself, 2016 Republican presidential candidate, now number one in the latest poll with 17 percent, Donald Trump. Sir, how are you?
DONALD TRUMP, R-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: Hello, Sean.
HANNITY: Let me -- let me start with this deal and just get your initial thoughts on it because they're the number one state sponsor of terror. They repeatedly say they're going to destroy Israel. Five days ago, they were chanting "Death to Israel, "Death to the U.S." and burning our flags.
What is your thoughts on even sitting down with them?
TRUMP: Well, the whole thing is a disgrace, that a deal like this could be signed. We had so many advantages. They're going to become a very, very rich nation. You know, they're getting billions and billions of dollars.
We have our inspecting teams. You know, unless you got anytime, anyplace -- I mean, that's what you want. You have to have anytime, anyplace. You have to go in there and check. We have to give 28 and 24- day notices.
And you know, I just look at this deal, it's so ridiculous. And not to mention the fact, which to me is very important, all of the money that they're getting, Sean, but how about the four prisoners? Why aren't we getting our four prisoners out? Kerry said he didn't want to complicate the negotiation for asking -- by asking for four prisoners.
These guys are babies. We have babies. And as you know, they're celebrating in the streets of Iran. They're going wild in the streets. They made a phenomenal deal. It's just incredible.
This is amateur night. I've never seen anything like it.
HANNITY: Let me -- let me go to the four prisoners you mentioned. Major Garrett asked the president about that today. The president got real testy. Here's how that went down.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MAJOR GARRETT, CBS NEWS: Can you tell the country, sir, why you are content with all the fanfare around this deal to leave the conscious (sic) of this nation, the strength of this nation unaccounted for in relation to these four Americans?
OBAMA: The notion that I'm "content" as I celebrate with American citizens languishing in Iranian jails -- Major, that's nonsense. And you should know better. If the question is why we did not tie the negotiations to their release, think about the logic that that creates. Suddenly, Iran realizes, You know what? Maybe we can get additional concessions out of the Americans.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: Well, we're giving them $150 billion. They continue to spin their centrifuges. They get conventional arms as part of the deal, and 24 days notice, and they have to approve any inspections! Wow. We couldn't get the four Americans?
TRUMP: Well, the answer -- I just hear it now for the first time -- that's incredible to think that we would ask for them and they'd get more. Why would they get more? They're getting so much. You just say -- if you have the right message -- I guarantee, if I were there, you'd have those prisoners. If I were president, you'd have those prisoners and they'd be back really, really fast.
You remember Ronald Reagan when they had the hostages. And as soon as he got -- you know, once it was obvious that he was in there, they were let go so fast. They had no respect for Jimmy Carter, and they had a lot of respect for Ronald Reagan.
So I just think it's incredible. I think his answer is incredible, that it would have opened up the -- it's a simple thing. We want our prisoners back. They're not doing you any good. They're in horrible jails, from what I hear, the worst. And these are four people that shouldn't be there in the first place.
So I mean, it's just incredible that he would say something like that. That's such a simple thing to do. And it would have been good for them. You know what? It would have softened the deal even from their standpoint. They don't want these prisoners. They don't need these prisoners. It's almost like they're taunting us by keeping these prisoners.
HANNITY: What would a President Trump have done differently from the outset, and what would be the parameters of a Trump deal?
TRUMP: Well, as you know, I did read -- and oftentimes, everybody else is telling me, you know, it's the best book -- but I did write "The Art of the Deal." And they didn't write and they didn't read it. And I will tell you, it's -- it's to me amazing, Sean, because you look at the basics of what they've done and how they've done it.
I would have doubled and tripled up the sanctions very easily. I would have waited for them to call us. I would have said, We want the prisoners, by the way, before we even start. They would have given them up in about 10 minutes. And believe me, we would have had a deal that would have been much better.
But you know, what we're doing is just insane. And from what -- everything I read, at the end of the term, they're going to be able to very easily produce nuclear weapons, which is really the worst of all.
I'll tell you, this is a terrible deal for us. This is a potentially catastrophic deal for Israel. Israel has to be very nervous about what's going on with Iran right now.
HANNITY: Let me go back to the issue of immigration, which has, I would argue, catapulted you to the top. It's now -- every single candidate is discussing the issue at length and in detail as a result of your position.
This drug kingpin, El Chapo, has pretty much threatened you and told you to be quiet. What is your response back to him?
TRUMP: You know, what I'm bringing up is much more important than Donald Trump. My life -- you know, frankly, what I'm doing is so important for the country. I'm so -- first of all, I appreciate your question, the way you worded it, because the truth is, we wouldn't be talking about illegal immigration if it weren't for me.
I brought it up. They hammered me, and then they found out they were wrong. And so many people have apologized to me over the last week because, you know, when I made my statement, they didn't read my statement. They read little pieces of my statement and tried to make me look bad.
Fortunately, you have some very good reporters, and some of the media was honest. And a lot of people are apologizing to me.
I brought up illegal immigration. I talked about Mexico because I'm not talking about individual -- I'm talking about Mexico is forcing people in that they don't want, and they want us to take care of those people. They want us to put those people in prisons because they don't want -- if you remember, many years ago, Cuba, Fidel Castro emptied his jails and sent them to us.
Well, in a much more sophisticated way, that's what Mexico is doing also at the border so -- because they don't want the cost. The cost is tremendous. And then you look at what happened with the escape, it's a pretty sad state of affairs.
So had I not brought immigration up and illegal immigration in particular, you wouldn't be talking about it right now. You wouldn't be asking me the question. And now all of the candidates are trying to jump on.
But here's the problem. They're weak and they don't understand what to do. And you have to build a wall and you have to have very, very strong people there, and you will be able to control it.
And I had an idea recently. When they send illegals into our country, we charge Mexico $100,000 for every illegal that crosses that border because it's trouble.
I want them to come in, let them be legal. They have to go through a process. And the Hispanics agree with me on that. Many -- I love the Mexican people, their spirit and everything else. But they agree. They've worked hard to become legal, and they don't like what's happening at the border where all of these illegals are flowing through.
HANNITY: As you know, Mr. Trump, I was down at the border some dozen times, everywhere from the Rio Grande all the way through San Diego, where there was a drug warehouse, an office building tunnel that had been built. I was in the tunnel.
When I sat through a briefing last year with Governor Perry, the one that President Obama should have been at, I was told that since 2008, 645,000 crimes against Texans alone -- since 2008!
Why are people so resistant to acknowledge what is a simple, you know, unadulterated truth that crimes are happening because our border is not secure? Why do you think there's so much difficulty and controversy in just stating that fact?
TRUMP: Well, first of all, Governor Perry did a terrible job. When he was governor of Texas, he could have done a lot better in terms of securing the border. He did a terrible job. And whether he likes it or doesn't like it, I personally don't care. But the job he did in terms of border secure was absolutely terrible.
And what I've heard from a lot of people, you know, Mr. Shore (ph) has this incredible son, who was killed and just horribly killed by an illegal that came in -- this unbelievable young guy that was going to go to college on a scholarship, applying to Stanford and all of this just -- just wiped out.
What he told me is that when people hear it's an illegal that's (INAUDIBLE) leave him alone. They don't do anything. They were going really after the guy. As soon as they found out he was illegal, our law enforcement didn't want to do anything. They don't want to work the same way.
And I'm saying, What is this. a double standard? And the answer is you actually have a double standard. It's hard to believe. They were going -- and I've heard this from five or six other groups.
You know, we had news conference last week with five unbelievable families whose children had been -- I mean, were killed by illegals. And they said the same thing. As soon as the government found out they were illegal, it became, like, Let's sort of leave it alone. They got very, very little cooperation.
So you'll have to explain that to your viewers because why this would happen -- it wouldn't happen with me, believe me. And Mexico...
HANNITY: Let me...
TRUMP: Go ahead.
HANNITY: I'm not trying to interrupt you. I want to go to the broader question here, though. And one of your major criticisms of your fellow candidates in the Republican Party is pretty much they're career politicians. They've been timid, weak and ineffective.
TRUMP: They are.
HANNITY: When you look at the major issues that our next president will have -- getting jobs for Americans, the debt, the deficit, health care, immigration, all -- education, all of these issues -- national security, which is huge, what -- where are you different?
HANNITY: How will you...
TRUMP: Sean, trade.
HANNITY: ... govern differently? In other words, how would you deal with the economy and national security? Go ahead.
TRUMP: Sean, I'm going to bring trade back into the country. Nobody's going to do it like me. In fact, a rival network of yours -- I won't mention the name, but they did a very big poll, and I kill everybody double and triple on things like trade and economics, anything having to do with financial, bringing jobs back. And leadership. I won on leadership by a long shot.
You have to bring trade back in. You have to bring our jobs back from China, and so many other places, including, by the way, Mexico. You know, Ford is building a $2.5 billion plant in Mexico right now. Tennessee just lost a big, beautiful auto plant from a German manufacturer, car manufacturer, going to Mexico. It's going to go instead of Tennessee. Tennessee expected to get it. They're not getting it.
We have -- we need these plants built in the United States. We need the jobs here. And nobody can do that like I can do that. I mean, I understand. That's what I do. That's why when everyone looked at my financials that came out today, they were stunned. I'm a private person...
HANNITY: I wasn't stunned. I knew you were a billionaire. But in -- can you balance our budget? Can you save Social Security? Can you get 50 million Americans in poverty and 46 million Americans on food stamps -- can you get them all jobs? Do you -- how quickly would you be able to turn that around?
TRUMP: I think very quickly. First of all, I want to save Social Security without the cuts. I'm the only one that can do it because I'm going to bring the jobs back. I'm going to bring money back.
And you know, one of the things I point out is that you have to have an ability to do that. Jeb Bush is not going to be able to negotiate with China. These guys are killers in China. They take advantage of us with their manipulation of the currency, so many other things. Jeb Bush, Sean, is not going to be able to bring jobs back. That I can tell you right now.
I will, and I'll bring them back big-league. We will have a great, great -- look at our -- our gross -- our GDP last quarter was negative! You don't see that! You look at China, where they go up 7 or 8 percent, and they're like -- they consider themselves a failure, which is what happens.
HANNITY: Here's my question...
TRUMP: I mean, they went up 7 percent. We went -- Sean, we went negative! That means we're getting smaller.
HANNITY: Well, that means if we have another quarter of negative growth, that's called a recession. I want to...
TRUMP: And by the way, with more people. Sean, with more people.
HANNITY: Good point.
TRUMP: We're getting smaller, but we have more people.
HANNITY: How -- in your consciousness, in your thought process, and when you were contemplating this run -- you see 93 million Americans out of the labor force, 50 million in poverty, 46 million on food stamps -- how important are those people to you because, you know, you're a billionaire...
HANNITY: ... financial statement today. How important are those Americans that are struggling and -- just to survive?
TRUMP: Very important to me. You look at the labor force, it's ridiculous. They look for a job. You know, the statistics are totally -- I don't know if they're done for some politician. I don't know when this started. But you look for job, you can't find one, you give up looking for a job, which people have given up. They're great people. They want to work. They want to make good money, and they can't find a job. They're essentially -- for statistical purposes, they're considered employed. So the number doesn't reflect -- you know, somebody actually last week said we have a 40 percent unemployment.
So I've been saying 19 to 21 percent. But somebody actually came out last week and said we have a 40 percent, and they might very well be right. Our country is suffering! We're going down. We have people that are incompetent doing it. And If you have Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush, it's going to be more of the same. And we're not going to have a country left anymore.
HANNITY: All right, more with Mr. Trump coming up in just moments.
But first, FOX news senior correspondent Geraldo Rivera -- he is in Mexico tonight to report on the manhunt for the escaped drug lord known as El Chapo. He's the guy that's threatening Mr. Trump.
Plus, a disturbing undercover video reveals a high-ranking Planned Parenthood employee actually talking about selling parts of aborted fetuses. We'll check in with Governor Huckabee on that and much more as we continue.
HANNITY: Welcome back to "Hannity." Tonight, the manhunt for the Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo Guzman," who escaped from a high- security prison over the weekend, continues. You can see it there on the video. Earlier today, Mexican authorities released this footage of El Chapo in his cell just before his escape. As you can see, he walks back and forth, then he goes right down, and he's gone.
Joining us now on the ground in Mexico tonight is FOX news senior correspondent Geraldo Rivera. Geraldo, this guy is extremely dangerous. He also now has threatened Donald Trump. What's going on there?
GERALDO RIVERA, FOX NEWS SENIOR CORRESPONDENT: He's not only extremely dangerous and threatening the Donald, Sean, but you know he's one of the richest men in the world. He's got a billion dollars, according to Forbes magazine. He obviously used that tremendous wealth to engineer a remarkable feat, digging a tunnel from this maximum security -- super-maximum security prison one mile underground to a house that I visited earlier that they built from scratch.
So this was a tremendous infrastructure project. They joke here in Mexico, with their macabre humor -- this country is traumatized by this, by the way -- they joke that they should have El Chapo finish the Mexico City subway. I said, Why not the 2nd Avenue subway, the job that he did, his cronies, 2,000 tons of dirt, which would have taken four guys working 10 hours a day a full year to do. He did it. He escaped.
Not only did they dig that tunnel, Sean, but they made it come up at precisely the right point, the one corner of El Chapo's cell where the security camera could not see the ground right by the toilet.
So he's dangerous, Sean. He is at large. And he is in many ways, I think, a kind of the model for what Mexico is right now. It is a dysfunctional state. It is in a sad state. The president has lost all credibility in losing his number one prisoner, El Chapo.
And now this country has to pick up the pieces and find out how this guy managed that because he could not have done it, Sean, without help pretty high up the food chain. Sean, back to you.
HANNITY: He couldn't have done it without help, Geraldo, but let's look at this here. They not only built the tunnel into the most secure prison that they have in Mexico -- the second time now he's escaped -- but they had a motorcycle inside the tunnel to get him out of there? And nobody heard a thing? Come on!
RIVERA: This is a man who is, I think, by far the most powerful person in Mexico. He has as many guns, some say, as the Mexican army. When they have gunfights, he outguns them. He's the drug lord, the ruthless homicidal drug lord who has run the Sinaloa drug cartel for many years. He was -- he escaped in 2001. He was 14 years on the lam. The only way he was captured, Sean, is with the help of U.S. intelligence.
Now everybody is scrambling to find out where he is. Is he still in Mexico? Has he gone back to hide in his native Sinaloa state, which is on the Pacific Coast of the Gulf of California there? Where is he?
Will he -- you know, I'm telling you, these threats against people like Donald Trump must be taken seriously. These people are the real deal. These are ruthless, murdering organized criminals, and they can do the same thing the Islamic terrorists do, Sean.
HANNITY: You know...
RIVERA: They could get some kid to take a gun on a suicide mission and do something awful.
HANNITY: So he had a lighted tunnel built under the prison, air- conditioned, I read, an air-conditioned tunnel for the comfort of El Chapo, and a motorcycle. And nobody knew anything.
Now, I want to go back to this issue of how dangerous he is. As I understand it, everything I've read, he's dealing heroin, all of these drugs, a multi-billionaire. He takes his business seriously. And now you have the issue of Donald Trump.
Doesn't this kind of validate in a lot of ways a lot of what Trump is saying, that the Mexican government is corrupt, that they have enabled all these people that are poor, some looking for jobs, people with good intentions...
RIVERA: There is...
HANNITY: ... but also criminals now have access to the United States, and Mexico hasn't lifted a finger to stop it!
GERALDO: There is no doubt that this is a country suffering from malignant corruption, corruption that goes all the way up to the top. This would not have been possible without the active co-conspiracy of people in power.
Now, the real danger to me on the border is the dysfunction of this government, the fact that it doesn't really work anymore. I think that that is a real national security threat to the United States of America.
If Mexico gets back to the violence of the Juarez cartel days, it's going to spill over. It has to spill over. And it's -- what Trump says about the border is -- is -- by this graphic example, proven at least to be partially true, Sean.
HANNITY: Well, I think it's more than partially true. The crime statistics, I think, bear this out. You know, when I sat in that security briefing, Geraldo, with -- with Governor Perry -- since 2008, 645,000 crimes against Texans by illegal immigrants that they have been victims of.
So it's a real clear issue. It's not about the people that want to come here, work, have a better life for themselves and their family. So the question is, we read about all the kidnappings and all the killings and hostage-taking that goes on in Mexico. Is this guy one of the ones mainly responsible?
GERALDO: He is definitely one of the ones. We are losing our satellite to you. We'll talk more tomorrow about this.
But there is no doubt that El Chapo is the real deal, a ruthless killer on the loose because of official corruption and incompetence. And it has to be addressed, I think, by the president, Sean.
HANNITY: And coming up, I go one on one with the one and only Juan Williams on immigration, the 2016 election, and of course, this bad nuclear deal.
Also, coming up later, a high-ranking Planned Parenthood employee caught on tape talking about selling parts of aborted fetuses, lungs and hearts and livers. We'll get the reaction from 2016 Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
Also, more with Donald Trump all coming up on this edition of "Hannity."
HANNITY: Welcome back to "Hannity." Now, for the latest on the immigration battle, the Iran nuclear deal, and of course, Hillary sinking in the polls, we bring in the liberal perspective, FOX News political...
HANNITY: Why you laughing? You are a liberal!
JUAN WILLIAMS, CO-HOST, "THE FIVE": You know -- I don't know how liberal I am, but I'm certainly liberal compared to you.
WILLIAMS: That's true.
WILLIAMS: But so are most Americans.
HANNITY: Donald Trump -- I sat through a briefing with Governor Rick Perry -- 642,000 Texans victims of crimes since 2008 by who? Illegal immigrants coming just into Texas! So give me one good reason that anybody should be angry at Donald Trump for what he said.
WILLIAMS: It's wrong because what he did was malign a whole group of people unfairly.
HANNITY: No, he didn't! He said some are good people.
WILLIAMS: Oh, yes, after he called people rapists and drug dealers and...
HANNITY: He didn't say that about all Mexicans!
WILLIAMS: Oh, get out!
HANNITY: Juan, Juan...
WILLIAMS: You're trying to make excuses.
HANNITY: I'm not...
WILLIAMS: And you know...
HANNITY: He said there are good people!
WILLIAMS: Let me just tell you as a friend, he's leading you down a rabbit hole which is indefensible.
WILLIAMS: And one other point. It's hurting the Republican Party, and...
HANNITY: I'm not a Republican!
WILLIAMS: You are a Republican...
HANNITY: I a registered conservative.
WILLIAMS: Yes, and I'm a fool. So let me just say...
HANNITY: OK, I'm not going to argue.
WILLIAMS: Come on, man!
HANNITY: Wait a minute! Wait a minute!
WILLIAMS: Be for real.
HANNITY: I'm a registered conservative.
WILLIAMS: Yes, yes.
HANNITY: I got to tell you something.
HANNITY: Republicans in Washington are weak and timid, spineless...
WILLIAMS: Yes, yes, yes.
HANNITY: ... and they don't even...
WILLIAMS: Right. In other words, you got everything that every Republican wants, no compromise. That's the rule.
HANNITY: No, that's not what I'm saying!
WILLIAMS: And that's why we've got a Congress that's paralyzed and does nothing.
HANNITY: Juan, Juan...
WILLIAMS: And you're so happy!
HANNITY: ... Obama's getting everything he wants.
WILLIAMS: Oh, sure. Yes.
HANNITY: But you know what?
WILLIAMS: Oh, absolutely.
HANNITY: You're going down the rabbit hole. Let me help you out.
WILLIAMS: Please. Go right ahead, Alice.
HANNITY: There's now 50-plus-some-odd percent in this poll want Joe Biden! Why do they want Joe Biden? Why is Bernie Sanders, a 78-year-old socialist curmudgeon, doing so well? Because people...
JACKIE IBANEZ, FOX ANCHOR: Good evening. This is a "FOX News Alert." I'm Jackie Ibanez. FOX News just confirming that former president George H.W. Bush is in the hospital tonight. He's being treated after falling at his vacation home in Maine. We're told that the 91-year-old former president broke a bone in his neck but that he is in stable condition tonight. And he will be in a neck brace.
Bush, who served as the 41st president of the United States from 1989 to 1993, usually spends his summer at their home there in Kennebunkport, Maine. Again, former president George Herbert Walker Bush is being treated in the hospital after falling. He's not expected to be in the hospital too long. He broke a bone in his neck, but at this time, we are told he is in stable condition.
Of course, stay with Fox News Channel for more on this developing story. Now back to "Hannity," which is already in progress.
HANNITY: -- the inspections not even guaranteed, and they get to continue. They get conventional arms, and they get to continue to spin their centrifuges. You're going to make the case that's a good deal?
WILLIAMS: Sometimes I wonder about your knee jerk reaction. It is just hating on Obama, is this all this is about? No deal that Obama was brought to Sean Hannity was going to be acceptable, even if it makes Israel safer, even if it makes you and me safer, you were going to condemn it.
HANNITY: Juan, whatever you are smoking I want to try it because you're out of control.
HANNITY: Its' $150 billion, conventional weapons they get. We don't get American prisoners back. Wait a minute.
WILLIAMS: Conventional weapons -- they cannot ship out conventional weapons for five years, ballistic for seven or eight.
WILLIAMS: A minute ago you said they get conventional --
HANNITY: I wouldn't give a mullah in Iran the right to spin centrifuges. And $150 billion is the equivalent in the United States of $1 trillion.
WILLIAMS: Aren't you a constitutional conservative? Don't you believe in sovereign nations? Are we supposed to treat them as if they are simply our --
HANNITY: This is the equivalent of giving Adolf Hitler weapons of mass destruction. It's September 30th, 1938, peace in our time.
WILLIAMS: In fact, we're doing the opposite, because we're preventing them from having a nuclear weapon.
HANNITY: I've got to go. You are out of your mind. You've lost it.
WILLIAMS: You are so anti-Obama you can't see the best interests of our country.
HANNITY: Coming up, a Planned Parenthood executive caught on tape talking about selling parts of aborted fetuses. We've got to warn you, what you're about to hear and see is extremely disturbing, straight ahead.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yesterday was the first time she said people wanted lungs. And then, like I said, always as many as intact livers as possible.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: And also fairly unbelievable. Up next 2016 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and more with Donald Trump straight ahead.
HANNITY: Welcome back to "Hannity." Planned Parenthood is in hot water tonight after a group called the Center for Medical Progress secretly filmed a meeting with a Planned Parenthood executive that shows her discussing how the organization harvest and sells organs from aborted fetuses. Now, please be warned, the video we're about to show you is extremely graphic. Take a look at this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: A lot of people want intact hearts these days because they are looking for specific nodes. I was like, wow I didn't even know. Good for them. Yesterday was the first time she said people wanted lungs. And then, like I said, always as many as intact livers as possible. You know, I throw a number out, I would say it's probably anywhere from $30 to $100 depending on the facility and what's involved. We've been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I'm not gonna crush that part. I'm going to basically crush below, and I'm gonna crush above, and I'm gonna see if I can get it all intact.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: Pretty brutal. Now, shortly after this video's released Planned Parenthood issued a lengthy statement that reads in part, quote, "A well-funded group established for the purpose of damaging Planned Parenthood's mission and services has promoted a heavily edited, secretly recorded videotape that falsely portrayed Planned Parenthood's participation in tissue donation programs that support life-saving scientific research." Here now with reaction, 2016 GOP presidential candidate, former Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee. Governor, edited or not, what we hear and what we see is clear, and that is to me a video of a Planned Parenthood executive talking about selling hearts and lungs and livers and saying, well, laws are up to interpretation, not caring that it is against the law to do such. What's your interpretation?
MIKE HUCKABEE, R-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: It's shocking to watch this video. And I think what's most painful is watching this person, medically trained, talking about the destruction of a human life and the harvesting of human body parts as if she were talking about parts to a Buick. And she sits there with fork in her hand chomping down on a salad, so indifferent to her topic.
And, Sean, the thing that is just stunning, is that she's describing in detail how that when they're removing this human baby from the mother, they're careful not to crush certain parts because they don't want to crush the liver, the heart, the lungs, because those are valuable parts of the baby that they can then turn around and sell. It's just amazing.
HANNITY: They go into great detail. They use ultrasound -- I agree with you. This is as grotesque as anything I've seen. But to go into detail, while eating, about using ultrasound so as not to damage the body parts, the lungs, the liver, the heart. And they use the forceps in the right way so those parts aren't damaged.
I always thought the left's argument on abortion was this was just a blob of tissue. Apparently it's very valuable tissue and completely formed body parts we're talking about here, right?
HUCKABEE: Well, and let's keep in focus that this is an illegal activity if you're selling body parts. It's why the organ donation system in America is just that, it's a donation. You cannot buy a cornea, a heart, a liver, you can't buy lungs. You have to get in line and it has to be through a donation.
This is disturbing. And, frankly, I would love to know, this president, why doesn't he order his attorney general to conduct an investigate Planned Parenthood and suspend all federal funds, not one more dime to this hideous organization who talks about their mission and services. It's apparent that their mission is making money and the services are the -- or is the destruction of human babies. It's just appalling.
HANNITY: Governor, federal law bans the sale of human organs, as well as commercial trafficking of body parts from an aborted fetus. I agree. We spend hundreds of millions of dollars, taxpayer dollars, that go to fund Planned Parenthood. But more important, this is against the law, what she said she's doing here. So don't we need an attorney general that is going to initiate an investigation here? Isn't she admitting on camera that she broke the law?
HUCKABEE: Absolutely. And if the attorney general won't, the local prosecutor. This is criminal activity that needs to be carefully investigated. And, you know, I know Planned Parenthood is falling all over themselves trying to say that this was highly edited. Well, then, you explain to us, give us a clear understanding, how you can justify what this doctor was saying as she sat there fork in hand and casually ate her lunch. I just find that -- I would like to believe, Sean, that even people who are for abortion, which I find just appalling, but if they find there's a justification for that, surely they could speak out against this kind of savage behavior.
HANNITY: Conventional wisdom if you listen to political pundits is that it's maybe not the best strategy for Republican presidential candidates to talk about social issues. You're outspoken about this issue. Others have been -- I know Scott Walker has said something as well. Others have been quiet up to this point. But between the gay marriage ruling and this, do you believe these social issues will be at the forefront of this campaign you're running?
HUCKABEE: Well, I think we'll talk mostly about jobs and national security. But I'm not going to be silent about the very foundation of our civilization. What we're seeing with the destruction of human life like in this video -- Sean, if we're not a civilized people, if we don't act with some level of decency toward nature and nature's God, which is words right from the Declaration of Independence, then we don't have the foundation of our country.
I mean, everything that we stand for is based on being a moral people. And without that our country can't make it. I don't care what kind of economy we have, you can't separate the money of this country from the morality of this country.
And if there are presidential candidates who want to just say, well, we just want to focus only on the economy, never bring up the issues of integrity and honor and decency, I'm sure there's going to be place on the stage for them. But I think we can be inclusive and talk about the full spectrum of issues that make us a great country. And one thing that makings America historically a great country is we believe that some things are right and some things are wrong. And taking the life of an innocent unborn child, treating a human being as disposable and expendable, giving them no intrinsic worth, we're a better country than that.
HANNITY: All right, governor, thank you so much for being with us. Appreciate your time.
HUCKABEE: Thank you, Sean.
HANNITY: And when we come back Donald Trump's favorability among Republicans is surging. Mr. Trump will respond to that poll and much more as we continue.
HANNITY: Welcome back to "Hannity." 2016 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to surge in the polls. According to the latest "Washington Post"/ABC News poll, Mr. Trump's popularity among Republicans has jumped to 57 percent in July, up from 23 percent in May.
We were talking about the economy earlier. I want to specifically ask, how do you deal with a world where Putin is running roughshod over us, the Chinese are pursuing their territorial ambitions, you ISIS out there taking territory that Americans fought, bled and died over, and the Israelis now left out there hanging out there to dry because this president abandoned them? You become president, foreign policy, what are your priorities?
TRUMP: Sean, it's about respect. Putin has no respect for President Obama, and Obama doesn't like him much either in all fairness. But he has no respect for Obama. China is, you know, they're taking our money. They're fleecing us. You know, we owe $1.4 trillion. They're our largest credited. Individual now we owe $18 trillion going up very rapidly. But we owe to China $1.4 trillion. To Japan we owe $1.3 trillion. Japan sends its cars in here, sells them by the millions, and we owe them money. How does this happen?
With China it's the same thing. They're devaluing their currency. What's going on is incredible. The problem is we have leaders that don't know what they're doing. And these countries don't respect us anymore, Sean. We need somebody that they're going to respect. And believe me, they will respect me, that I can tell you. I made a lot of money dealing against China, a lot. You'll see that in the statement if you look at it. But I make a lot of money dealing with foreign countries, and they have to respect you. And by the way, I get along with these foreign countries. They have to respect you, Sean.
HANNITY: I'm looking at this poll, and it shows a huge spike. You're not the frontrunner. You're the leader in the latest poll at 17 percent. But it shows that you do have, there's a fairly high percentage of people that when you look at the electorate at large where people strongly have an unfavorable view of you. And my question is, how do you get them to look at Donald Trump differently, to say wait a minute, let me tell you what I'm going to do? How do you turn that number around?
TRUMP: Well, I'm leading in all the polls, and those numbers have really gotten a lot better, and people get to understand what I'm doing. A lot of the people, they said 40 percent of the people think I'm just doing this for fun. This isn't fun. It's costing me a lot of money. You can have a lot of money. It's still costing me. I lose accounts, where Macy's doesn't mind having weak borders. And Macy's is a disgrace, frankly. I think people shouldn't shop there anymore. It's disgusting. They were very disloyal.
And, frankly, in so many different ways, NBC, Univision, so many of these companies, and they're weak and they're ineffective people. I don't understand it. But I will tell you, when people see what I want to do for the country, those numbers, and you see them. They've gotten much better. And they'll continue to go up. But a lot of people think I'm just having a good time. This isn't a good time. Speaking with you, I think you're a fantastic guy, Sean, I don't know how you can do this. This isn't really fun. (LAUGHTER)
HANNITY: I've got better things to do than hang out with Hannity. Great. I understand your point.
TRUMP: Well, I have other things I could be doing, you know. But I think you see numbers are getting very good now. And I think pretty soon they're going to be quite good.
And, look, Hillary was the worst secretary of state in the history of our country. I'm the only one that is going to beat her, Sean. Nobody else is going to beat her. And she was terrible. And yet I have to go and we have to go through this process. And remember this. Jeb Bush will never take us to the promise land. No matter what you do, it's not going to happen.
HANNITY: How bad do you think America in terms of its shape -- you think about making America great again. That means we're not great now.
TRUMP: We're not great right now. Number one, we lost our number seed is China. China now is the big economic engine. We lost our number one seed to China. That is unthinkable. If you would have gone back six, seven, eight years ago, that was unthinkable. No, we're not. We have infrastructure that's rotting. Sean, I travel all over the world. You go places like, anywhere, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, China, any place, you could name 100, you could name 30 places -- you've got to see the airports. You've got to see the magnificent roads. You have to see the bridges that they have. We're falling apart. Our bridges are falling down. Our infrastructure is falling apart. Then you see hospitals where they spend $2 billion to build a hospital and they can't open it because it doesn't work. Believe me, I could turn this country around so fast, and people would love me for it. That is what they want. And that's why I'm leading in the polls, I think.
HANNITY: I'd like to see America great again. I'd like to see Americans back to work. I'd like to stop robbing future generations. And I'd like to tough on the world stage once more. So I agree, we're in tough shape right now. Mr. Trump, good to see you. Thanks for being with us.
TRUMP: Thank you very much, Sean.
