Joe Garcia Kickstarts Grassroots Operation, Joined by More Than One Hundred Supporters

Date: May 28, 2016
Location: Palmetto Bay, FL

Today, former Congressman Joe Garcia was joined by more than 100 supporters from across South Dade for the grand opening of his campaign headquarters in Palmetto Bay. The office, located in the heart of Florida's 26th Congressional District, will serve as the hub for an aggressive grassroots operation that will build neighborhood teams and coalitions across Florida's 26th Congressional district.

"I am humbled by the community's support for our accomplishments in Congress," said Joe Garcia, Candidate for Florida's 26th Congressional District. "We set out to give every part of this district a voice in Washington, and that is precisely what we did. I am proud to have made college more affordable for our students by cutting student loan rates. I am proud to have helped South Florida workers by securing federal dollars for local job training. And I am proud to have protected access to healthcare for millions of families when Republicans tried to repeal Obamacare.

The room quickly filled up with students, working families, and supporters from across the district. Former Congressman Garcia spoke to supporters highlighting his long record of service and the need for representation that works within the community, not undermines it. After introductions from Mayor Otis Wallace of Florida City and Doral City Councilwoman Sandra Ruiz, Joe spoke to supporters before Team Joe joined Joe for a field chant and picked up campaign materials and t-shirts for a South Dade door to door event.
