Mark is running for NC Superintendent of Public Instruction because more of the same can no longer be the only option for NC students and educators.

Everyone talks about improving education. Now it is time to do something about it. North Carolina is unique; citizens get to vote on who leads the state agency in charge of education. It is time to vote for change at the Department of Public Instruction!

The three-term incumbent Superintendent is now entering her 5th decade at DPI. She says "our schools are not failing" and "we are on the right track."

Mark decided to run for NC Superintendent after constantly hearing from parents, teachers, and school leaders across NC about the lack of urgency at the top of DPI to take the actions necessary for students and educators.
