Rep. Ellison Statement on Veterans Day

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement in honor of Veterans Day.

"Today we honor the extraordinary sacrifice of our veterans and their families. Every freedom and privilege we enjoy in this country, we owe to the men and women who put on a uniform and protect us.

"Now more than ever, we need to have our veterans' backs like they have ours. We need to encourage local businesses to hire vets, and make it easier for veterans to start businesses of their own. We need to make sure we keep our VA efficient and well funded, and provide our veterans with the best medical care our country has to offer.

"On this Veterans Day, I'm thinking about my son, who is deployed on active duty. When he returns from fulfilling this great responsibility, he'll join the ranks of millions of American veterans, ready for what comes next. Let's make sure every one of them comes home to open doors, as well as open arms.

"Thank you to all who serve. Today, we honor your sacrifice."
