Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) today voted in support of a bill to roll back the Obama-era regulation that labels veterans who have a fiduciary handle their disability benefits as mentally defective. Once these veterans are labeled as mentally defective, they are unable to purchase a firearm.

"The regulation labeling these veterans as mentally defective is too sweeping," said Banks. "Americans, especially those that have fought to keep our homeland safe, should not be subject to the loss of their second amendment rights without due process. This bill rolls back the regulation and replaces it with a more tailored approach."
