Pittenger on healthcare reform

Statement

Date: July 28, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) had this statement following last evening's Senate vote on healthcare reform:

"My constituents asked me to repeal and replace Obamacare, and I am proud to have worked with my colleagues in the House of Representatives to deliver. We passed conservative healthcare reform in the House," said Congressman Pittenger. "The Senate must not let down the American people. Obamacare is collapsing. Every county in my district has only one Obamacare option, and even that carrier has repeatedly threatened to pull out.

"Having passed conservative healthcare reform in the House, my colleagues and I are now moving forward on tax reform. We must cut taxes for hardworking American families, restructure the corporate tax code so that companies want to do business and create jobs in America, and simplify. We will get this accomplished for the American people."
